Over 80 years of golf at Aulanko
The two golf courses at Aulanko, the historic 9-hole Hugo course and the modern 18-hole Eversti course, are both named after Colonel Hugo Standerstsköld. The Colonel was one of the wealthiest men of his time in Finland and the founder of the English style landscape park at Aulanko in the 1880’s.
Hugo, first opened in 1940, is the oldest course in Finland still retaining its original routing. Eversti, which is the Finnish word for colonel, opened for play in 2006. It hosted the national Amateur Championships in 2012 and European Senior Team Championship in 2018.
Aulanko is located in the city of Hämeenlinna, no more than an hour by car from Helsinki. The golf season at Aulanko normally starts in early May and ends in mid-October.
